Amazon Says No to Racy Images

Amazon updated its policy for sellers in certain categories. On Monday, the marketplace announced it was updating its image policy for adult DVDs, books, magazines, and calendars.

Amazon didn’t get into details about what exactly was changing in Monday’s announcement, but rather, said it was updating the policy “to give you more information on listing image guidelines.” It left it up to sellers to review the policy update for themselves, writing in the announcement:

“We strictly prohibit any listings or product detail page images that feature explicit sexual imagery. If you sell products in these categories, review your images against the new guidelines and update them if required. If no action is taken by September 27, 2023, any affected listings will be restricted in search or suppressed.

“For more information on these listing guidelines, go to Adult DVDs, Books, Magazines and Calendars.”

You can find the announcement on Amazon Seller Central.
