Mercari Holds ‘Back to Campus Shopping’ Sweepstakes


Marketplace app Mercari is running a sweepstakes for back-to-campus shoppers to generate sales this month. It’s giving away six $500 shopping sprees in select categories.

The site advised sellers it might be a great time to list given the spotlight on those categories.

The promotion kicked off on August 8 and ends on August 21. Shoppers who make a purchase in one of the following categories are entered into the sweepstakes: Women’s, Men’s, Kids, Handbags, Electronics, Sports, Home, Office, and Arts & Crafts.

More information on the “$3K Campus Vibes Shopping Sweepstakes” is available on the Mercari website.

Mercari also suggested sellers consider listing team apparel and accessories they no longer need as professional football season kicks off and college games start soon (“fans are shopping,” it wrote).

It suggested sellers who list multiple items for the same team encourage buyers to bundle and save on shipping.
